How Nerve acts

It drafts. You approve.

Nerve writes to your clients, chases your invoices and moves your projects along. An agent with that reach has to be one you can check, so here is exactly what it may do, what it may never do, and where you see all of it.

Drafts first, for every studio

Out of the box, everything Nerve writes is a draft. A follow-up to a quiet lead, a reminder on an overdue invoice, a check-in with a past client: each one waits in your queue until you read it, change what you want and approve it.

Each approval says in one sentence what Nerve wants to do, so you can decide without opening the whole record. If two people on your team approve the same thing at the same moment, it still runs once.

Client replies always wait for you

A reply to a client’s email is the one thing Nerve can never send on its own. That is not a default you might change by accident: the product refuses the setting. Every reply written for a client is read by a person before it goes.

You decide, one kind at a time

Everything else has its own setting, with three choices: Auto, Draft or Never. Follow-ups, invoice reminders and project stage moves are set separately, so you can let invoice reminders go out on their own while follow-ups still wait for you, or switch a kind off entirely.

  • Auto: Nerve does it and records it
  • Draft: Nerve prepares it and waits for your approval (the starting setting)
  • Never: Nerve does not do it at all

Every action on the record

One view in Settings shows the last 30 days of what Nerve did, what it asked to do and what it was stopped from doing. Each row says what happened, Nerve’s reason, the credits it used and who let it act: on its own, approved by a named person, or confirmed in chat. Where an action can be reversed, Undo is on the row.

The same actions appear on each inquiry, client and project, marked as Nerve’s, so the story of a record includes what the agent did on it.

Credits only for finished work

Three actions carry a price: processing an inquiry (5 credits), drafting an inbox reply (2) and an Ask Nerve answer (1). Each is charged only when it completes. Your morning brief, sorting new mail as it arrives and the follow-ups and reminders Nerve drafts on its own never cost a credit. The full list is on the pricing page.

What it does not claim

Nerve does not send anything to a client unless you approved it or set that kind of action to Auto yourself. New inquiries it finds in your inbox are proposed to you, and you accept or reject them; it never adds one by itself.

Common questions

Can Nerve email my clients without me?

Not a reply to their email, ever. Follow-ups, invoice reminders and stage moves only run on their own if you set that kind to Auto. Until then they are drafts.

Where do I see what it did?

In Settings, under Nerve activity: the last 30 days, with the reason, the credits used and who let each action run.

Can I undo something?

Where the action can be reversed, yes, from the same row in the activity view.

What does this cost to run?

Each action has one fixed credit price: an inquiry processed is 5 credits, an inbox reply drafted 2, an Ask Nerve answer 1. The reminders and follow-ups Nerve drafts on its own never cost a credit, and an action that does not finish costs nothing. See what costs a credit.
